Schneider Electric
Grenoble
Schneider Electric has integrated 450 m² of SageGlass electrochromic glass in its canteen, "Le Bistro," in their IntenCity office in Grenoble, France. This glass, which dynamically tints or clears based on temperature and occupancy, is synced with the building management system (BMS). The installation has significantly reduced energy consumption and maintenance costs while enhancing employee comfort with optimal thermal and lighting conditions. This initiative underscores Schneider Electric's dedication to energy efficiency, sustainability, and the advancement of smart building technologies.
Thanks to the installation of SageGlass glazing on the canteen facade, Schneider Electric employees are protected from heat and glare, thus affording them a sense of well-being. Saint-Gobain electrochromic glass maintains a comfortable temperature in all seasons, is energy efficient and sustainable.
SageGlass aims at providing an elegant and sustainable alternative to conventional buildings' facade solutions for architects and builders looking at solving solar control challenges without sacrificing aesthetics, energy-efficiency or comfort. SageGlass dynamically adapts its tint in response to the weather conditions and the building's needs, to manage the daylight and heat in a smart way. Spaces always benefit from daylight and a free access to views to outdoors, without suffering from glare nor overheating. This thus results in reducing the building's energy use and improving the occupants' comfort and well-being.
