As a market test, together with the brand, we decided to produce with our material a limited edition of sneakers and sell them online. The material was used to produce the reinforcement pads on the upper part of the shoes. We decided to start from shoes for a simple reason: they are subject to the most abrasion, if a material works for footwear, it will work for other items as well. It was a success: the material proved to be extremely durable, and was extensively tested by a vast community of skateboarders.
From an environmental impact point of view, approx. 150 kg of seafood waste have been used to produce the sneakers, and 21,000 kg of CO2 have been avoided. Clearly, the impact was limited by the small number of sneakers produced and sold. As we grow, the impact will expand too.

SeiShell® is aligned with the industry trends in terms of quality and aesthetic appealing, and with the needs of its designers.
