Description

We developed the Passenergy solution up to 2022 before testing it in real conditions. The MMV residences, located in the French Alps are particularly exposed to excessive energy consumption due to low temperatures and a high level of consumption of its heating system. Convinced by our solution, MMV has decided to integrate it into 5 strategic residences. During the winter 2022/2023, we successfully deployed more than 1,100 rooms in two weeks, representing almost 5,000 IoT devices. As a result, MMV reduced its energy consumption by 20% in the residences equipped, and decided to extend Passenergy to 4 additional sites during 2023/2024 winter. Today, MMV is optimising its energy consumption while reducing its bills.

Impact & Result

Between November 2023 and April 2024, our solution enabled the MMV Arêches-Beaufort residence to optimize its energy consumption to 24,702 kWh through smart heating management, automatically turning off when windows were open (9.4% of the time) and reducing temperatures when rooms were booked but unoccupied (57% of the time). This resulted in lower CO2 emissions and significant energy cost savings, delivering a rapid return on investment that reinforces their environmental and financial commitment.

Solution Spotlight

Passenergy is a wireless solution that automatically controls heating and air conditioning according to real-time occupancy of the rooms. We install door and window opening sensors, and a connected thermostat with motion detector in each room. These small wireless devices, suitable for all types of building, contiunously collect data (presence of a person, open window, etc.). They are used to adjust the temperature according to scenarios defined by the building manager. For instance: 21°C for an occupied office, 19°C for an empty office, and 16°C for a closed office. Scenarios can be modified anywhere via a simple URL. This innovation automates the energy management of buildings, without the need for additional operational supervision, with the aim of limiting energy waste. Why is it so much more interesting than a usual Building Management System ? First, it is wireless. So it does not require any investment, cabling or works. What's more, it adapts to any heating or cooling systems.
