Description

Minimac Systems successfully implemented an oil reclamation project for Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.'s (IOCL) Haldia refinery, one of the largest oil refineries in India. The project aimed to improve the quality of lube oil used in various industrial equipment, reduce contamination levels, and enhance overall plant efficiency. Before implementation, the oil was contaminated with high levels of moisture and impurities, leading to equipment failures and downtime. Minimac Systems deployed its proprietary oil purification technology, which included installing FS 80 LPM, FS 40 LPM, and FS 20 LPM machines. The project achieved remarkable results, reducing NAS levels to less than equal to 5 and moisture content to less than equal to 200 PPM.

Impact & Result

Environmentally, it resulted in annual CO2 eq savings of 7.2 gigagrams (72,00,000 kg), conserved 6,00,000 liters of lube oil, and achieved approximately a 15% reduction in energy consumption. Economically, the project generated monthly savings of ₹37,50,000 (around $44,862.75), achieved a payback period of just 24 months, and realized overall project cost savings of ₹9 crore (approximately $1.1 million). This success story highlights how innovative solutions can create a positive impact both on the planet and a client’s financial performance.
