Normandin sought to upgrade the kitchen ventilation systems in over 40 of its restaurants to reduce energy consumption and maintenance costs while maintaining staff comfort. Over a 24-month period, the ECOAZUR system—featuring temperature and optical sensors—was installed across all locations.
The results were significant: modulated airflow averaged 70%, with each restaurant cutting approximately 30 tons of greenhouse gas emissions annually. Normandin continues to benchmark restaurant performance to uncover further energy-saving opportunities. Since 2016, the Normandin restaurant chain is saving a total of 1,200 tons CO2eq each year with the ECOAZUR DCKV.
Professional kitchens require ventilation systems, which can require large amounts of energy to run. The Solution automatically controls the speed of exhaust and supply fans in commercial kitchens to help them save on energy costs.
