Description

SED2, the power grid operator of the City of Monthey, started to test this Solution in 2016. As part of the Smart City strategy of the City of Monthey, the grid operator took the opportunity to digitalize its processes to face the structural and operational challenges potentially endangering their service excellence. After using Depsys GridEye Solution for several years to monitor and analyze power quality of MV/LV stations, SED2 extended its use for digitizing certain processes.

Impact & Result

The system enables faster and easier understanding of the operational status at all times by providing real-time visualization of the grid’s condition, ensuring greater efficiency in monitoring and decision-making.

Solution Spotlight

GridEye helps distribution grid operators to balance generation and consumption in presence of decentralized renewable energy sources and big loads, such as e-mobility. It gives perfect visibility on the grid state in real-time via high-resolution monitoring, and allows for grid analytics, network planning, and asset management, but also for automatic stabilization and optimization through active control of all flexibilities.
