Powered by our GreenMem® Organic Solvent Nanofiltration (OSN) membrane, our DE(SOLV)® system test with a leading vegetable oil producer was successfully ran. The objective of the pilot was to demonstrate RBD palm olein/acetone separation efficiency, evaluate the purity of recovered acetone, and analyze the economic viability of the pressure-driven process. Results demonstrated outstanding membrane performance, with the technology showing substantial environmental and economic benefits for industrial-scale application. This process demonstrates that DE(SOLV)®, in a hybrid process, produces quality RBD palm olein with significantly reduced energy demand.

Impact & Result

Tests showed that GreenMem® membranes achieved an average oil rejection rate of more than 99%. Compared to the market-leading product under identical conditions, GreenMem® membranes showed around 15% higher oil rejection and sixfold better permeance.
