Description

Romande Energie SA, a Swiss energy production and distribution company, also active in energy services implemented EMMA 3.0 in may 2022. The Solution is capable of computing the CO2 footprint of the national grid, the COfootprint of the deployment of the battery (Li-ion) and allows the use of renewable stored energy into the battery only when the CO2 footprint of the grid is at its maximum. Aurora’s Grid is capable of calculating and tokenizing the CO2 earned with a granularity of one second.

Impact & Result

The payback period is achieved once the software has corrected 300 kWh of installation energy usage, marking the point at which the system's savings begin to offset the initial investment.  Those energy savings uncovered some important COsavings for the system.

Solution Spotlight

It offers a way to precisely compute the optimal BES size to couple with some renewable sources of production by implementing precise electrochemical sizing models and by enabling the simulation of multiple business cases offered by BES. The user can choose which revenue stream he's willing to prioritize. The benefits and the ageing associated with the installation and the use of the BES are then computed for multiple BES size.
