Luxembourg National Utilities Distribution Network
Luxembourg
Underground utilities require precise documentation to ensure safety, reduce disruptions, and support long-term planning. Traditional processes in Luxembourg involved repeated site visits, manual drawings, and lengthy surveys, which slowed progress and increased resource use. In 2024, the national utilities distribution network introduced EasyScan by Syslor to digitise this process. Using a GNSS receptor linked to a mobile app and web interface, crews now create reliable 3D trench records directly integrated into GIS systems. The approach cuts unnecessary travel, reduces waste, and provides accurate as-built plans that improve coordination across teams. The result is faster project delivery, lower emissions, and improved safety, with reliable records that also help prevent damage to existing networks during future works.
Around 9 tCO₂e saved per worksite (Carbone4 estimate for a Paris region project). Reduced surveyor travel lowers fuel use and emissions. Accurate digital plans support long-term avoidance of re-excavation. 20% fewer utility damages through accurate positioning and reliable records. Faster execution and fewer disruptions for local communities.
SYSLOR offers simple, innovative solutions for sustainable public works. These solutions reduce the carbon footprint by minimizing travel, optimizing trench management to reduce rubble volumes, and speeding up projects, reducing their environmental impact. In addition to their ecological benefits, SYSLOR solutions are revolutionizing work on buried pipes with augmented reality: facilitating real-time visualization and precise layout. They also enable the creation of digital georeferenced twins from a video. The SYSLOR portal centralizes project management, improving coordination. GNSS receivers provide fast, centimeter localization. With more than 2000 satisfied users across Europe, SYSLOR innovations simplify the distribution of energy, water, and data, while preserving the environment for future generations.
