In August 2023, our client provided us with a server in Italy, without prior details about the chip dimensions needed to design the cold plate. Given just one month for measurements, we swiftly built the cold plate, showcasing our adaptability. Initial tests showed we could double computing power by preventing system throttling, and maintaining high performance. The first phase revealed about 10% energy savings since we couldn’t remove the existing cooling system. Despite minimal initial savings due to dual cooling systems, our success led to further testing on other platforms. We are now building a pilot project, installing DaTEG with full capabilities on a production unit server with eight nodes at their facility. Our internal tests performed in our lab in Italy already confirmed the performance improvement and calculated a 50-55% energy saving when transitioning from air to liquid cooling.
Compared to conventional cooling, DaTEG demonstrated superior performance with direct energy savings of up to 55%. Our advanced thermal management solution operates without additional resources, lowering facility management costs and reducing both energy bills and carbon footprint. DaTEG 1.0 offers up to 55% energy savings over traditional air cooling methods. Additionally, our analysis conservatively omits the benefits of localized cooling, which could offer an extra 15-20% in energy savings.
GemaTEG’s thermal management solution transcends AI industry limitations by enhancing capacity without increasing resource demands. As CPUs and GPUs face overheating due to increased silicon density, DaTEG 1.0 provides an indispensable alternative to traditional, energy-intensive cooling methods. This smart system employs a micro heat pump, advanced control systems, and innovative micro heat exchangers, enabling precise temperature regulation of microprocessors. Unlike conventional cooling that applies broadly, DaTEG's targeted cooling ensures each microprocessor operates at optimal conditions, enhancing performance and reliability while minimizing energy consumption. This approach reduces the environmental impact of data centers and meets the IT industry's urgent need for green technology solutions, making DaTEG a unique and vital innovation in the post-Moore era of computing.
