Hotel Nieuw Leven
Den Burg
Nieuw Leven Texel is one of the most sustainable hotels in the Netherlands, operating fully energy-neutral through solar energy, geothermal heating, heat pumps and rainwater harvesting. All 33 guest rooms are equipped with a Hydraloop Shower, enabling a luxurious, 35 L/min spa-like experience while reducing water, energy and wastewater volumes by up to 80% through real-time purification and reuse. This fits seamlessly with the hotel’s sustainability vision: guests enjoy guilt-free long showers, and the hotel benefits from sharply lower utility costs. The Hydraloop Shower has become a core element of the hotel’s eco-friendly identity, highly valued by both guests and management. “A true win-win: an incredibly pleasant shower, real wellness experience with lots of water — and the guilt-free luxury of taking a longer shower while still caring for Mother Earth.” – Hendina Eelman, Owner
The Hydraloop Shower cuts water, energy and wastewater by ~80%, reducing use from 450–675 to 120–140 L/room/day. Across 33 rooms at 80% occupancy, this saves ~4.2M liters of water and ~242 MWh of energy per year, avoiding ~100–110 tons of CO₂e. Annual cost savings are approx. €65,000.
The Upfall Shower is a high-flow circular shower that saves up to 80% on water and energy by recycling and purifying water in real-time. Unlike traditional showers that waste every drop, the Upfall filters, disinfects, and reuses warm water continuously. It is the only circular shower in the world that delivers a powerful 35-liter-per-minute flow, while using just 2–3 liters of fresh water per minute. In comparison, regular showers use over 10 liters of heated water per minute, and rain showers up to 20. A 10-minute session means 100 to 200 liters of drinking-quality water are lost. The Upfall Shower cuts this to just 40 liters—and because the warm water is reused, much less energy is needed to keep it hot. Other circular showers offer just 10–12 liters per minute. The Upfall lets you enjoy long showers without guilt, while helping to conserve water, cut energy use, and lower utility bills. Ideal for eco-conscious homes, hotels, and wellness centers—smart for the planet and your budget.
