Battenfeld
Düsseldorf
Trade fair appearance with zero waste: Battenfeld at K 2022 with recyclable CERAMIN® flooring. On October 19, 2022, K 2022, the world's largest trade fair for the plastics and rubber industry, took place in Düsseldorf. The battenfeld-cincinnati Group, one of the oldest mechanical engineering companies specializing in extrusion systems for the plastics industry, participated in the event. Consistent with its longstanding sustainability strategy, the company ensured that its trade fair presence in Düsseldorf reflected these values. For its 350-square-metre booth, Battenfeld-cincinnati chose CERAMIN® flooring from the CLASSEN Group. In June, the company selected the "Vevey" flooring from CLASSEN's extensive CERAMIN range. Production of the 350 square metres of flooring was completed in September, and it was delivered and installed at the Düsseldorf trade fair in early October 2022.
After the trade fair closed, the CERAMIN floor was removed, packaged and transported to the CLASSEN Group's main plant in Kaisersesch. Here, the floor was shredded and extruded into new CERAMIN granulate so that it could be used to produce new flooring without any loss of quality. A shining example of resource conservation, sustainability and the circular economy in the flooring sector.
Ceramin is the solution for PVC-free flooring and wall applications. CERAMIN is not only produced to a large extent from recycled materials, but is also 100% recyclable afterwards. The recyclates are post-consumer materials, e.g. plastic food packaging. The use of recyclates on the one hand releases significantly less CO2, since no new oil has to be extracted, and on the other hand the processing of recyclates requires less energy than virgin PP. CERAMIN is 100% free of PVC and harmful substances such as chlorine and plasticizers - awarded the Blue Angel and other certificates.
