Description

PT Kelleng Indo Kopi, a coffee producer in Kota Tangerang, Indonesia, has adopted Biopac's seaweed-based biopackaging to enhance sustainability. By replacing traditional, non-recyclable materials, the company aims to reduce its environmental impact while still maintaining product integrity and marketability. Biopac's innovative sachets and pouches support PT Kelleng Indo Kopi’s ecological commitment and branding needs, using fully printable materials with eco-friendly inks.

Impact & Result

Compared to Biopac packaging, metalized packaging consists of a layer of aluminum laminated onto a plastic film. While this structure can offer advantages such as enhanced barrier properties for preserving products, it also results in significant environmental impacts. The combination of materials makes recycling difficult, as separating the aluminum from the plastic is a complex process, leading to increased waste and resource consumption.

Solution Spotlight

The solution facilitates our users to provide single-use and ecofriendly packaging for their customers, and at the same time, we all participate to decrease climate change due to plastic waste pollution and CO2 emissions. Our single use and ecofriendly packaging is made from seaweed, which absorbs CO2 efficiently and converts it into biomass during photosynthesis process. Our solution is available as sheet wrapping, sachet, gusset, pouch, shopping bag and roll. We also provide sealing and printing services, using our ecofriendly ink, made from seaweed too.
