Description

WITT is an R&D company that has granted patents in most core countries and offers solutions in many locations turning the Natural Occurring Motion Energy in WATER, WIND, HUMAN & ANIMAL INTO USEABLE POWER. The question was the best 1st application, and feedback from MoD DASA etc was a small, (350mm) quiet, sealed system that was positioned subsea turning water flow known as Vortex Induced Vibration (VIV) into continuous power which can be used in many ways, mammal studies (orca's in the Bay of Seattle) data gathering, security, defence, aqua culture, illegal fishing and much more. After a successful MoD DASA deployment, we were contacted by Pacific Northwest National Laboratory who wanted a small energy harvesting system to be deployed in Sequim Bay to provide power for mammal studies, they purchased a prototype unit for $20k and the collaboration began, we then won a Teamers award for $250k all funds went to PNNL to continue testing etc. 5 watts of continuous power was achieved!

Impact & Result

The impact has been fantastic with PNNL networking throughout US Dept of Energy departments, gaining interest from National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) who were conducting an intensive study for the best Wave Energy Converter (WEC) WITT achieved first with many USP's, sealed, no external parts, scalable, can be joined in arrays, affordable as can be built with standard industry components, is totally recyclable. Academic confirmation confirms we offer best 6D solution in new style buoy.

Solution Spotlight

WITT Energy takes the motion in water, wind, and humans/animals and turns it into electrical power that can be stored and called upon when needed. The system is totally green and recyclable. Units can be built from cms to mtrs from standard industry parts. WITT is working on its first product, using the WITT system to harvest sub-sea water motion and turn it into power to provide a solution for the aquaculture industry. Fish farms are moving further out to sea, needing power for lighting, feeding, security etc, the $200 billion industry is currently using a hybrid solution of diesel generators, solar panels, and wind turbines, WITT can work in harmony with other solutions harvesting Vortex Induced Vibration water motion as a new power solution greatly reducing the need for diesel generators!
