Our process converts waste (sunflower meal) into high-protein food and feed (protein value higher than soybean meal) as well as a green energy source, solving two fundamental problems facing humanity: climate protection and nutrition.
The Environmental Benefits
- •A high quality protein source alternative to soybean meal
- •An alternative energy source in the form of pellets or for biomass production
- •1 ton of non-GMO sunflower extraction meal, eliminates the need for 1 ton of genetically modified soybean meal
- •Sunflower meal is produced from a native plant, in contrast, 1 ton of soybean meal requires 1,000 GJ of additional energy to get from Brazil to Europe (0.1 MJ/ton-km×10,000 km=1,000,000 MJ=1,000 GJ)
- •Each ton of soy saved protects 0.357 hectares of rainforest.
