Effective irrigation planning involves a series of considerations, from the choice of irrigation systems, to the management of water resources, to the scheduling of irrigation events. When developing irrigation plans it is necessary to consider the type of soil, the water needs of crops, weather conditions and water availability. “Fin4Crop” is a DSS, i.e. a decision support system which, taking into consideration all the aspects just mentioned, provides a simple and precise indication: when and how much to water. What makes "Fin4Crop" different from any other irrigation advice on the market is that it is based on a unique soil moisture measurement, provided by Finapp probes which, thanks to cosmic rays, indicate the water content in the soil on a large scale, in depth and in real time with a single non-invasive instrument.
