Identification

During operation and maintenance, aircraft coatings can be locally damaged by erosion, lightning strike, bird strike, or ground service equipment. In most cases, these impacts are a few centimeters in diameter. The structure is initially not impacted but can degrade over time if the paint is not repaired (for example, because of corrosion). Local repair of a paint system is a lengthy process, requiring surface preparation, followed by the application of multiple paint layers: anticorrosion, primer and a topcoat. Such a process, including drying times, can take up to 10 hours. This leads to airlines leaving defects untreated, or making temporary repairs. Corso Magenta proprietary technology answers this challenge by making dry films out of standard paints that are adhesived. It allows making repairs in a quick and clean manner. The solution is a 10cm diameter adhesive patch of aeronautical grade paint, for carrying out permanent repairs in less than 40min: CorsoPatch Aircraft.
