Identification

Eleven million tons of plastic waste are discharged into the oceans every year, a large part of it via rivers. To tackle this challenge, everwave, Berky and DFKI cooperated to create the “CollectiX”, an innovative solution to clean water bodies and protect the environment. With approx. 20 tons of garbage collection per day, a single boat ensures optimal water purification. A drone supports each garbage boat and identifies the waste hotspots. In addition, the boat is equipped with sensors which, thanks to artificial intelligence, help to analyse the waste smartly. In this way, not only collect garbage is collected, but also detailed data on its composition. The solution helps to maintain rivers, lakes, canals and harbours clean all over the world.
