Today, most disposable products are made from different plastics, making recycling and the production of valuable recyclates more difficult. At the same time, the low level of digitalisation in this industry makes it difficult for buyers and sellers to get an overview of the available material and the prices per commodity. To meet this challenge, the Cirplus platform connects the fragmented and opaque markets of waste owners, recyclers, converters and distributors, closing the loop within the plastics industry. Cirplus sets standards for recyclates and plastic waste, follows the material across the globe via track & trace and creates transparency in terms of availability, quantities, qualities and prices. Ultimately, the goal of Cirplus is to reduce transaction costs for recycled plastic and therefore create solid economic incentives for the value chain to switch from virgin to recycled.
