Identification
Alpha Chitin aims at providing biosourced chitosan from animal or plant biomass with guaranteed traceability, high repeatibility and quality. The purity of produced chitosan can reach 90% and there is a wide range of molecular weights offered. The product is 100% natural. The potential applications include pharmaceutical industry, cosmetic companies, agricultural sector and industrialists. The manufacturing process is based on green chemistry principles. Alpha Chitin obtains raw materials from local suppliers and grows its own Mycelium for the fungi-based chitosin production. Its main facility is based in Lacq, France and the company is dedicated to support local economy, e.g. by creating workplaces.
