Aquilon CO2 CRAC Unit

01.

Identification

The Aquilon "CRAC" Unit is a computer room air conditioning unit. A single unit can remove the equivalent of 165,000kg, or more, of R-22 refrigerant, which 10% is estimated to leak into the atmosphere every year.

The data centre industry is an increasingly growing sector, as is its cooling needs. Most of the solutions offered in today's market include synthetic refrigerants which, in case of leaks, has a huge impact on global warming and ozone depletion. The solution aims at providing a unit that would remove synthetic refrigerants from data centres. The Aquilon unit uses 100% natural refrigerant. The computer room air conditioning unit has increased free cooling potential, without a pump or a compressor, because of carbon dioxide's thermodynamic properties.
