Identification
Aqua Gratis has been created to significantly reduce domestic water consumption. Capturing and reusing the bath and shower water to flush up to four toilets in the home gives at least a 30% saving on potable water needed to be supplied to the home. The use of greywater for flushing toilets saves around 200 litres a day for a family of 4. In times of drought, unlike rainwater harvesting, this solution has a regular supply of water. Aqua Gratis will reduce domestic sewage by 30%. This will reduce the energy used to process both water supplied and sewage treated by 30% and has a 13% greater Co2 savings than its mainstream competitor. This solution is low cost, low energy, easy to fit, use and maintain. Installing Aqua Gratis will benefit the water companies, developers, occupiers and the environment. Aqua Gratis is the missing element of zero-carbon homes. Today, water companies urgently depend on the cooperation of new home developers to work in partnership to achieve water neutrality.
