UP400 - A hydrogen fuel cell electical smartgenerator, that uses compressed H2 to create zero-emission electricty.

The UP400 aims at providing hydrogen-based zero-emission, silent and safe solutions to the mass market that replaces the conventional diesel solutions. The UP system is designed to be plug and play making it appealing to new users that wish to integrate innovative solutions on a sailboat, campervan or as a backup generator in their home. By using lightweight type 4 carbon composite cylinders in combination with the UP400, users can achieve better weight to power ratio than lithium batteries. Furthermore, this solution is designed to work both as a sole power source or in combination with other green solution can create a truly autonomous micro-smart grid. This accessible and simple generator can endure harsh sea conditions much better than conventional solutions. The UP400 is a stackable solution that can go from 400W to 4kW.

Key features

  • 1kg of H2 = 18kW of energy – compared to diesel which would require 6 kg of diesel to produce the same amount of power
  • The Fuel Cell has a lifespan of 5000 working hours and has no mechanical parts
  • Our generator could avoid the emission of 21kg of CO2 for each 50L tank of hydrogen used.
  • 100% reduction of CO2 emission compared to Diesel Gensets
  • 50% of recycled materials, fuel cell can be partially salvaged at end of life
  • Has a longer lifespan than other solutions - 5000 working hours

Profitability

  • No maintance costs - 500€ year
  • When hydrogen price reaches 6€/kg, it will become cheaper than diesel

Maturity Stage

  • Medium and large scale commercialization
  • Small scale commercialization
  • Initial market commercialization
  • Prototype testing in the real world
  • Prototype testing 1:1 in the lab
