TerraFlow - A specialized solution for more efficient backfilling in underground mines

TerraFlow is serving customer's needs for highly durable construction solutions in extremely challenging underground applications such as tunnels and mines. TerraFlow offers a superior life cycle performance and cost while reducing the carbon footprint by 80% and the raw material consumption by 65%. Through TerraFlow, LafargeHolcim is serving customers’ upcoming needs for high performing and eco-friendly construction. TerraFlow carries the LafargeHolcim EcoLabel, delivering transparency about the sustainable profile of products and raising awareness for solutions that ultimately will bring the construction sector to zero carbon and zero material consumption.

Key features

  • A specialized engineered blend of cementitious with 75% slag content and 25% General Use Limestone cement
  • Applied on soil solidification for tunnels, underground ducts and in mines, where superior strength is required and a high sulphate concentration prevents the economic application of Ordinary Portland Cement
  • Mixed at a soil treatment rate of 8% to achieve the targeted soil stabilization
  • Offers a CO2 reduction of 80% or more compared to a local average Ordinary Portland Cement, while offering superior technical performance and durability
  • Use 65% of recycled materials, saving natural resources and preventing waste from landfill
  • Carries the LafargeHolcim EcoLabel which provide full transparency about the sustainable performance and create a market pull asking for the best sustainable offer
