SUEZ Smart Village - Provides essential services to rural and isolated areas including a solarised drinking water supply system & latrine system with micro biogas production
The SUEZ Smart Village is a game-changer for emerging countries that will face strong uncontrolled urbanisation and increased climate change effects. It consists of an integrated solution aiming at providing basic services to isolated populations or in rural areas. It is composed of a compact drinking water production unit, an off-grid energy supply unit and latrines coupled with a biogas plant treating the organic waste and producing cooking gas. Moreover, considering the utilities provided, the shipping containers can be reused and arranged for other services such as wifi, money transfer, post office. This solution creates real "city centers" in remote areas of developing countries in order to encourage the settlement of populations while offering concrete solutions to the challenges of climate change. Suez Smart Village is also a social project, avoiding massive migrations towards big cities.
