Speed-O-Clar - Hydraulic device fit for sewage stations clarifiers to enhance more than 2 times potential limit flow rate, saving energy, wear free, no maintenance.

In the activated sludge sewage stations, floating sludges are observed on the second clarifier. In numerous experiences it has been proved that this phenomenon results from the bacteria lysis. The retention time in the clarifier is too long (more than 2,5h generally). In consequences, a lot of dysfunctions appears like Suspended Solids, increased COD and phosphate rates in the outflow.

Traditionally clarifiers are equipped with a Clifford (cylindrical skirt). The currents are directed towards the bottom and have a circular shape in which sludge is captured as a cloud. So that, sludge is spread and it is difficult to gather it and recycle to the aerated tank. Speed-O-Clar is a custom-made HDPE retrofit device improving primary or secondary clarifier performance. A cone shaped piece of equipment, installed at the inlet of circular clarifiers, directs influent onto a baffled plate, changing the direction of flow within the clarifier. This creates a centripetal flow at the bottom which make them more efficient and enhance the limit flow rate.
