JBox & IECharge - An energy storage system for grid stabilization and EV charging stations
NW developed the JBox®, a battery-based energy storage system, to improve the efficiency of power management. It balances the electrical grid by charging when there is too much production and by injecting the electricity back when consumption is too important. A compact all-in-one device, the JBox is easy to install and to connect to the local distribution grid. The IECharge®, an electric vehicle charging station, is directly plugged to the solution. This enables the battery to release the pressure off the grid during the charge of a vehicle at great power - up to 320 kW. The project aims at creating a strong network of ultra-fast charging stations in order to develop the use of electric vehicles on long distances without having to worry about the autonomy.
