Identification

Cities worldwide are searching for green mobility solutions due to high impact of the CO2 emissions made from cars, trucks, boats, ... Mobility and access to energies are a daily challenge that face the world. As a matter of fact, transportation is the second spending budget in most households due to the high price of fossil energy.

Inland waterways transport is an ecological mean of transport (compared to road and air carriers) on a worldwide navigable network of almost one million kilometers. With a huge fossil energy consomption fleet and underdeveloped infrastructure, it remains a reliable and inexpensive mean of transport. The E-ROW concept would allow the recycling of this fleet in electric or hybrid propulsion recharge with an ecological smart grid pontoon equipped with tidal/ river turbine, low in carbon footprint compare to other technologies.
