CarbonCure Technology - A retrofit technology that chemically mineralizes waste carbon dioxide during the manufacturing process to make greener and stronger concrete
The CarbonCure solution uses carbon dioxide from cement plants to provide downstream mix producers with the resources needed to make stronger, greener concrete.
Cement, the main ingredient of concrete, is responsible for approximately 7% of global man-made greenhouse emissions, making it the world's second-largest industrial source of carbon dioxide. To tackle this challenge, CarbonCure Technologies developed and commercialized a scalable technology that utilizes post-industrial carbon dioxide to increase the strength of concrete, allowing for less cement in concrete mixes. Its retrofit technology chemically mineralizes waste carbon dioxide during the concrete production process, making greener and stronger concrete. The CarbonCure Technology is being used at hundreds of concrete plants today to reduce concrete’s carbon footprint (17 kilograms GHGsper cubic metre), create new production cost savings and gain a competitive advantage. CarbonCure’s vision is to make the utilization of carbon dioxide in concrete production the new standard across the globe.
