A basic gravity-fed water filter delivering safe water to its users, free of bacteria and protozoa

Identification
The Tulip technology, the candle filter, is based on gravity filtration, made of diatomaceous earth, combined with silver and activated carbon. This technology ensures that highly contaminated water becomes safe to drink for a sustained period. There is a removal of harmful bacteria of 99.9%, turbidity removal of 99% and protozoa removal of 99,9%. This helps to prevent waterborne diseases like diarrhea, cholera, giardia, cryptosporidiosis, typhus, and schistosomiasis. The solution is available for the end-user through partnerships in currently 25+ countries. Partners are supported in various ways but mainly through product certification, end-to-end importation services, payment solutions in local currencies and carbon credit programs. In a growing number of countries, the end-user is offered micro loans or rent-to-own options.
