The Solution aims at providing high quality recycled polypropylene with very specific characteristics for technically demanding sectors, such as automotive, aerospace or any other industrial application. The patented brand CIPLEN® includes the following polypropylenes developed from a 100% recovered base: homopolymer, copolymer or other modifications. CIPLEN materials are modified with mineral charges and other additives such as elastomers in order to get a final product that fits the technical needs of clients which are mainly automotive injection companies. The materials are usually used to produce visible or invisible parts of cars, which reflect the high quality of the end product.

The environmental benefits

  • All grades are tailored to the needs of each specific part to be injected and each lot produced has its specific Quality Certificate
  • Specific technical details such as MFI, density, impact, contraction can be defined for each grade
  • 100% recycled CIPLEN PP represents a 70% reduction of Kg CO2eq/Kg compared to 100% virgin PP
  • Reduction of more than 80% of the total energy used for producing virgin PP is associated with the solution, which requires 74,4MJ/Kg compared to the 8,89MJ needed for producing 1Kg of recycled PP
  • To make 1 kilogram of virgin PP, about 1,84 Kg of CO2 is emitted, while for every Kg of PP that the solution recycles, 0,53 kg of CO2eq is emitted

The Financial benefits

  • The solution is around 40% cheaper than any mainstream virgin PP alternative, which can translate into approximately 0,4€ per Kg of PP used by the injection company
  • Depending on the volume of consumption, savings can reach thousands of Euros for the customers
