Cloud computing housed in urban structures that benefit from the generated residual (waste) heat
Leafcloud provides sustainable, open-source, affordable, and European cloud services to companies of any size. These services, like any digital service, are run on servers. By utilizing the technical areas of large urban structures such as hotels, large apartment complexes, nursing homes, and swimming pools, we can house our servers without constructing new data centers and can capture nearly all of the heat the servers generate to utilize for heating tap water at these locations. This removes the need for energy-intensive cooling systems for the servers and substantially reduces greenhouse gas emissions in these locations, as heating water in urban environments is a major source of energy consumption. Additionally, not constructing new data centers prevents the need for construction-related carbon emissions, extra capital investments and reduces costs for our clients.
