By NOMA
From France
Maturity stage TRL 9 / CRI 3-4 - Commercial Scale Up / Multiple commercial Applications

NOMA's collection of furniture is the first comprehensive attempt to design a circular high-end environment for homes and offices. A desirable and attractive future tackling environmental challenges. By sourcing the most promising and beautiful recycled material and trash we have offered the designer a blank sheet to write on. The result is impressive and recycles tons of waste. Our collections are designed by talented designers such as Charlotte Julliard, Sam Baron, Martino Gamper, RDAI or A+A Coreen. They are mainly produced in France and contain 83% recycled materials. We want to change the outlook on waste / recycled materials, as we are convinced that beauty is a powerful vector of change, that today’s economic models must be circular, and that each one of us has the right to know where and how every article has been made. We no longer want to use design as an adjective, but to make people understand that design is a lever for positive change.

The Environmental Benefits

  • 2 tons of wastes re-used (including 100 000 yogurt pots) in our collections are 1 ton of CO2 saved
  • 7 years warranty (roughly 50% more than average mainstream products)
  • 100% Fostering innovation in material stream / product development / material innovation / transformation process
  • 83% recycled materials used in our collection
  • 100% recyclable materials and 100% recyclable furniture (so 100% dismantle and repairable)
  • 70% produced in France (locally) 30% in Europe (Portugal/Italy/Belgium/UK)
  • Achieving 50% of environmental impact reduction , Compared to market average values (Calcul Eco-Impact)

The Financial Benefits

  • 7 years warranty (roughly 50% more than average mainstream products), so they get an average stronger and longer lifetime compare to mainstream alternatives
  • 100% recyclable products keep a strong residual value at the end of life, specifically with the rise of raw material, and so the customer will get an economic benefit in recycling the goods at the end
  • 100% dismantle and repairable products, no definitive fixations, allow the customer to maintain/repair/modify and keep their NOMA products for much longer time than mainstream products
