Storabelle aims to facilitate the decarbonization by introducing a Massive Storage Solution for Renewable Energy
Storabelle aims to contribute to the necessary decarbonization with utilizing molten salt technology for large-scale energy storage, stabilizing grids, and increasing the penetration of intermittent renewable energies like solar and wind. The company plans to convert decommissioned coal power plants into energy storage centers for excess electricity generated by renewables. This electricity is stored as thermal energy in large quantities of molten salt, which can maintain temperatures of around 600°C for days without significant loss. When demand peaks, this stored energy is released back into the grid via the existing power plant’s turbo alternator. This technology also applies to the Industrial Heat where the steam is produced by the renewable energy stored will replace the old gas or coal boilers.
