An absorbent barrier against flooding, leaks and water damage
As climate change worsens, extreme events such as flash floods are on the increase. In 2024, floods affected almost 167 million people worldwide, causing major human, economic and environmental damage. In response, Ausec has developed OBLOC®, a reusable and recyclable flood protection device. It's an ultra-thin bag that inflates in just a few minutes on contact with water, multiplying its volume by 24 to form a watertight, resistant barrier. Lightweight, modular and installable without tools by a single person, OBLOC® adapts to any terrain, reduces intervention costs, avoids the use of sand and minimises waste. OBLOC® is made from superabsorbent polymers that are 100% recycled, making it part of a circular economy approach. This innovative solution represents a concrete, sustainable response to the challenges of climate change, serving both people and the environment.
