Large-format porcelain tile with a reduced thickness of 6 mm, specifically designed to minimize environmental impact
The innovation lies in the optimization of the product’s material efficiency without compromising performance or durability. By reducing the thickness from traditional values (typically 9–12 mm) to only 6 mm, we significantly lower energy consumption during the firing process—resulting in a 9% energy saving per square meter compared to standard ceramic tiles. This translates to an estimated reduction of over 370 tons of CO₂ per million square meters produced, based on internal gas consumption data. Additionally, the reduced weight of the tiles leads to more efficient logistics and easier handling, lowering transport-related emissions and improving ergonomics for installers. The development of this solution is supported by real production data, a market-ready product line, and backed by environmental certifications such as an EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) and ISO 50001 (Energy Management System).
