The solution involves an electrolysis device powered by solar panels and a battery, along with a non-electric dosing pump (Dosatron) and connection tubes. This technology allows communities to produce chlorine locally using the Wata Solar Electrolyzer. Following its successful implementation in Sabtenga, the promoters of the WATA and Dosatron technologies plan to advocate for local authorities to consider incorporating this equipment into their future budgets to improve water quality and sanitation in similar communities.

The DOSATRON water powered dosing pump is a simple and ingenious system. This solution enables simple liquid to liquid precision dosing and reduces mixing issues. Installed directly in the water supply line, the DOSATRON operates without electricity; it uses the flow of water as the power source. The water activates the DOSATRON, which takes up the required percentage of additive and injects it into the water. Inside the DOSATRON, the concentrate is mixed with the water, and the water pressure forces the solution downstream. The dose of additives such as chlorine or any equivalent will be directly proportional to the volume of water entering the DOSATRON, regardless of variations in flow and pressure which may occur in the mainline. The high dosing precision eliminates all risks of overdosing, thus contributing to respecting the environment and protecting human health.
