Gecina, a prominent real estate company managing an impressive portfolio of property assets valued at 20 billion euros, has always been committed to enhancing the quality of its buildings. For the renovation of one of its student accommodation buildings, Gecina chose Tempolis as a partner to improve both the thermal comfort and air quality for the students residing there. A total of 8,000 m² of the building was coated with Tempolis, a solution designed to optimize energy efficiency. In addition, a comprehensive thermal study was conducted over the course of three months by a specialized thermal engineering office to assess and monitor the building's performance. This collaboration reflects Gecina’s ongoing dedication to creating healthier and more energy-efficient living environments for its tenants.
On average, a thermal inertia increase of 1.5°C was recorded, resulting in a 7.5% improvement in energy savings. This energy gain translates to an estimated 9,459 kWh per year, equivalent to a reduction of 945 kg of CO2 annually. The economic benefit of this improvement amounts to 1,135 € per year.
Tempolis is a coating that can be applied like paint, helping to regulate the temperature in both summer and winter. Tempolis is a unique and revolutionary solution that combines thermal comfort, energy saving and decontamination of the indoor pollutants (formaldehydes). The technology used by Tempolis is based on vegetable waxes. It has an A rating thanks to its low VOC content.
