Huaytire
Southern Peru Copper Corporation chose to install the system to treat its effluent water and reuse it for agriculture purposes in Huaytire, a high-altitude village of 270 inhabitants. For the wastewater treatment installation itself, 225 pipes were required, for a treatment capacity of 30 m3 per day. The system was bordered by a waterproof membrane with a network of gathering pipelines below the filter sand to collect the treated water and bring them to a tank to reuse for irrigation purposes.
Wastewater treatment is a vital part of society but can create large emissions during treatment. The System O)) is an effective domestic wastewater treatment system combining Advanced Enviro-Septic (AES) pipes and a bed of filter sand. The system has three functions: Firstly, it helps evenly distribute wastewater coming from the septic tank over the entire leaching bed; Secondly, it treats the effluent; and thirdly, it releases treated water safely into the environment via infiltration into the soil. The strength of this product is in this triple action that mimics the way nature works. It is the only technology that distributes, treats and infiltrates at the same time (no moving parts, no electrical components, no maintenance, no filtering media change).
