After a long process and intesive competition with large suppliers, PlasticFri won the European tender by Sodexo for several of its products, became an approved supplier in recored time and collborated with the national headquarters in order to switch to these innovative products creating value while reducing the environmental footprint. This has resulted in a fantastic collaboration where the national team made a valuable partnership in order to become a role model for setting a new standard in application of sustainable consumption through using the power of innovation and technology offered by PlasticFri.
From an environmental impact perspective, the material contributes to a reduction of 700,000 kg CO₂ equivalent, saves 3,000,000 liters of water, and eliminates 117,000 kg of plastic waste. Economically, it offers savings of €13 per ton per month in local environmental fees while also supporting the achievement of corporate sustainability goals.
Nearly all of the plastic that has ever been made still exists today, much of it finding its way into nature. PlasticFri is a GreenTech company from Sweden with the vision to end plastic pollution catastrophe. Conventional plastics are made from petroleum and stay in the environment up to 1000 years! By 2050, the oceans could have more plastic than fish. PlasticFri is on a mission to change that by transforming renewable resources to bio-based products for replacing disposable plastics. This revolutionary technology is already tested, validated and certified by the toughest certification standards in Europe. For its groundbreaking work, the company was awarded as the “World’s Most Innovative Sustainability Startup” among 1400 companies worldwide!
