Docaposte (La Poste Group)
Ivry-sur-Seine
As part of the French government's “TechSprint – Responsible Digital” program, Docaposte partnered with Systnaps to improve data sustainability in its finance and business intelligence systems. The project involved mapping and cleansing Sage and FSCM Finance & Supply Chain environments, followed by automated yearly archiving and deletion processes. The objective was to reduce the environmental and financial costs linked to inactive and unnecessary data, while improving system performance and governance. Data Recycling® enabled Docaposte to adopt a circular approach to data, aligning IT practices with broader ESG goals and paving the way for repeatable and scalable sustainability actions within complex information systems.
The solution freed 1.1 TB of hot storage, representing 5.5 TB of actual data volume. It led to annual operational savings of €6,000, avoided €8,000 in capital investment, and reduced CO₂e emissions by 0.09 tonnes per year. The return on investment was achieved in 12 months.
The solution aims to provide the 1st eco-responsible platform for transparent data recycling. Selective archiving, reduction, deletion, cleaning and recycling of data are the keys to an eco-responsible use of data in modern organizations that are committed to energy reduction and meet ESG/CSR/SDG criteria. Hence, Systnaps has built on this DNA to develop due to a unique and powerful algorithm its Data Recycling® as a service solution. Systnaps considers its mission to support organizations find the right balance between the need for massive "datafication" required for economic development, smart and sustainable cities, compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and protection of human rights and privacy while acting for the common good in an efficient manner. The promise is to support organizations in reducing their carbon footprint, energy consumption and spatial occupancy by up to 50% by data recycling and to support the optimization of IT infrastructure and data center expansion. Systnaps has the ambition to bring data into the circular economy!
