Description

The impact of the materials on the environment is considered when choosing packaging solutions. So when BESSEY Tool GmbH & Co. KG were looking for a way to replace the plastic cable ties that were securing their products, FibreStrap was a natural choice. “The increasing importance of environmental awareness in the packaging industry motivated us to look for alternatives to conventional plastic packaging. FibreStrap, with its combination of strength and sustainability, fitted perfectly into our philosophy of environmentally friendly, resource-saving and efficient packaging solutions”, says Thomas Klein. FibreStrap is a patented sustainable paper cable tie, designed to easily replace current plastic solutions for bundling, securing, and attaching in any industry. Made of long fibres from the Scandinavian forests it is strong, recyclable, and biodegradable

Impact & Result

By the implementation of 200,000 pieces of FibreStrap, Bessey will has saved
• 3.242 tonnes (3,242 kg) CO2
• 2,668 cubic meters (2 668 000-liter) of water
• 0,276 tonnes (276 kg) of fossil plastic.
For reference, a full-scale rollout would involve 2 million units.
