Dolce La Hulpe
Brussels
Facing the challenge of managing large amounts of carbon data, Dolce La Hulpe, a leading Belgian hotel welcoming over 70,000 guests annually, partnered with Tapio to elevate its carbon management practices. Together with Colin Royer, a Tapio Carbon Expert, they streamlined the carbon reporting process and laid out a solid strategy for reducing emissions. In just one year, Dolce La Hulpe halved the time spent on data collection — from 30 hours for their first report to just 15 hours for the second. This was achieved by duplicating the previous report structure within Tapio’s carbon management platform, leveraging CSV imports for supplier data, and optimizing the data entry workflow. The time saved enabled a stronger focus on improving data precision and building an actionable reduction strategy. In the process, data uncertainty was also reduced by 2%.
Through the collaboration with Tapio, Dolce La Hulpe achieved a 50% reduction in time spent on data collection, cutting the process from 30 to 15 hours. By streamlining workflows and improving data management, they also enhanced data precision, decreasing the uncertainty of their carbon report by nearly 2%. This allowed Dolce La Hulpe to shift focus toward building a robust carbon reduction strategy, ensuring more accurate reporting and greater confidence in their sustainability actions.
From an environmental, regulatory and business standpoint, companies need to act on their carbon footprint, if not it will cost them billions. In addition to being costly, the procedure towards carbon neutrality is extremely complex, risky and time-consuming due to laborious data collection among many players each addressing a different stage of the value chain, the volatility of frameworks & regulations and the inability to track on-going emissions. Overall, the carbon accounting, analytics, reduction and compensation market is booming but suffers from a lack of transparency and is poorly understood and regulated. Tapio positions itself as a partner in the journey towards carbon neutrality, by being the intermediary actor centralising in an integrated offer, every tool that a company or organisation needs to calculate, reduce, offset, monitor and communicate on its carbon emission. This Solution is an all in one carbon management software.
