Description

The implementation of POLARIS in a My Muesli store in Munich was a strategic project aimed at demonstrating the capabilities of MAGNOTHERM's advanced cooling technology. The process began with an initial assessment and feasibility study to ensure seamless integration with the store's operations. Following this, the POLARIS system was customized to meet the specific cooling needs of the store. The installation phase was planned to avoid disruptions to the usual business operating hours. Integration with existing systems was followed by testing to ensure optimal performance. Training was provided to My Muesli staff, along with detailed user manuals for ongoing support. During its time of operation, the system's performance was continuously monitored and optimized based on real-time data. The successful implementation resulted in significant carbon footprint reduction, enhanced cooling performance, and a positive customer experience, aligning with My Muesli's sustainability goals.

Impact & Result

The advanced technology ensured consistent and reliable cooling, maintaining the freshness and quality of My Muesli products. This resulted in an overall improvement in product preservation. By completely eliminating refrigerant gasses needed in the cooling cycle, POLARIS contributed to a lower carbon footprint for the My Muesli store.

Solution Spotlight

The cooling industry relies on compressors and refrigerants to generate cold temperatures. However, these refrigerants are environmentally harmful and prone to leaks. Despite advancements in sustainability and efficiency, cooling still contributes 10% of global greenhouse gas emissions. Over the past years, MAGNOTHERM has been developing an alternative technology that achieves cooling without harmful refrigerants. This innovative approach utilises magnetocaloric metals and magnets to heat and cool the metals. POLARIS, the world's first magnetically powered beverage cooler available commercially, proves the viability of this technology outside the lab. It not only showcases the concept but also serves as a marketing tool to promote widespread adoption. Additionally, POLARIS provided the knowhow to scale the technology to larger applications. Ultimately, MAGNOTHERM's goal is to revolutionise the cooling industry, making it eco-friendly and ushering in a cooler, cleaner future.
