The municipality of Saas-Fee
Saas-Fee
In Saas-Fee, an old copper roof on the parish church was replaced in 2022 with a sustainable solar roof, overcoming initial concerns about snow load and its appearance. The new roof was carefully designed to be energy-efficient while seamlessly blending into the village center, which is characterized by traditional stone roofs. For this project, 700 modules of the Match Slate/Tile Solution, covering 1,851 m², were produced and integrated directly into the roof. This innovative solution not only enhances the church’s sustainability but also preserves the architectural charm of the village.
The modules installed on the church roof have a total output of 97 kWp and are generating approximately 95 kWh of electricity annually. This clean energy production contributes significantly to the church’s sustainability efforts, leading to a reduction of around 40,000 kg of CO2 emissions per year.
