Description

A client wanted to test the efficiency of LM Innovation technology on their tomato plant production greenhouses to reduce water consumption without losing yield. They tested the technology on a small scale before installing it across their entire farm. To do this, they grew their tomato plants with two different types of water: standard water (CONTROL) and water treated with LM Innovation technology. The client grew their tomato plants in several different ways, comparing four types of irrigation : 100% optimal conventional irrigation, 25% reduced irrigation, 50% reduced irrigation, and 75% reduced irrigation. The results are impressive: in this experiment, using LM Innovation water allows to reduce irrigation by 50% without significantly impacting germination rates, resulting in better-rooted, higher-quality tomato plants.

Impact & Result

Tomato plant production greenhouse (3 hectares), agricultural borehole water, over 1 year Environmental impact: 50% less water (4,500 m3 saved) 50% less borehole pump energy 10% savings in crop products Economic impact: €2,800 savings/year 4,500 m3 water saved + less pumping energy: €600/year 10% savings in crop products: €400/year Reduction in limescale problems: €300/year Improved production: €1,500/year ROI: 3 years

Solution Spotlight

Water is the basic element of all activity. But we are increasingly encountering problems with the quantity and quality of this vital resource. Did you know that, beyond its bacteriological quality, water has natural properties that can be altered by our modern electrical installations and infrastructure? LM Innovation takes a fresh look at the issue of water management, quality, and quantity and offers you a simple, autonomous, natural, and mechanical solution, requiring no maintenance or consumables, for high-quality water.
