Description

Le Connecteur, Crédit Agricole's esteemed business incubator based in Biarritz, France, recently integrated the innovative cleantech solution known as La Consigne Verte into its operations. This strategic implementation aimed to address the significant challenge of efficiently managing and reducing waste generated both within the establishment and from employees' homes.
La Consigne Verte provided a waste management system tailored to Le Connecteur’s needs. The initiative began with the installation of a centralized collection bin in the inner courtyard, providing a convenient and centralized point for all waste disposal efforts. To further bolster the process, the solution included bio-buckets with a 20-liter capacity designated for the on-site restaurants and four break rooms, effectively managing food and organic waste.

Impact & Result

Over a period of 10 months, 2 tons of organic waste were collected and transformed into 600 kilograms of locally-sourced compost, which was then used to improve the soil quality of 200 square meters across three distinct market gardens.

Solution Spotlight

At a time when the sorting and recovery of biowaste is needed in all European Union countries, La Consigne Verte is one of the solutions, as an alternative to on-site composting, and particularly suited to dense urban environments. This innovative solution is based on: 1 - an intelligent and eco-designed shelter bin that can be used as a voluntary drop-off point, with access control, 2 - a mobile application to encourage sorting, inform and interact with users and provide data reporting to the client - 3 an embedded system, allowing to track the utilization rate of the bin, and thus, optimize its collection.
