Description

Thai Café, a restaurant chain with 15 locations across Belgium, began using KioBox in January 2020. These containers are provided to customers who order food for takeout or delivery in exchange for a deposit. The company aims to use and reuse the containers for up to hundreds of cycles, promoting a sustainable and circular approach. As of July 29, a total of 433,362 KioBox are currently in circulation, demonstrating the significant scale of their commitment to eco-friendly practices.

Impact & Result

Since 2020, nearly 3 million single-use plastic boxes have been avoided, significantly contributing to the reduction of plastic waste and reinforcing a commitment to sustainable and environmentally friendly practices.

Solution Spotlight

Aiming to change the habits of single-use packaging in the food industry, the KioBox containers are made of strong material and have been designed to last. Ultimately, the containers are 100% recyclable. KioBox developed their own wood-plastic composite (WPC), designs inhouse the different containers and produces them in France. KioBox elegance and extreme robustness provides a sustainable solution for restaurants, chains as well as distribution platforms.
