Digital technology raises pressing environmental issues, and few users are really aware of the consequences... The community of communes of Ernée in France is taking this matter very much to heart and has decided to take matters into its own hands by deploying the Hyperion solution on its premises. Through this collaboration, the Communauté de communes de l'Ernée has become the 1st French local authority to deploy an immersion cooling system on its premises. The data centres are located in the premises of the Local authority premises and at the municipal swimming pool AquaFitness centre in Ernée. This installation will save electricity consumption associated with data hosting and reuse the heat produced by the computer servers. The Communauté de communes has chosen to commit to this approach as part of its overall sustainable development policy. More than a commitment to responsible digital technology, it is above all a commitment to the future, against energy waste in data centres, for digital sovereignty and towards carbon neutrality by 2040.
Hyperion achieves up to 50% energy savings and reduces capital expenditure by eliminating air conditioning costs, delivering an ROI in under three years. Its immersion cooling technology extends IT hardware lifespan by reducing dust and oxidation, effectively doubling server lifetime. Financially, Hyperion provides up to 95% OPEX reduction and 50% lower CAPEX, while environmentally saving 100% of water, reusing 90% of heat, and reducing carbon emissions by 45%.
The Hyperion solution consists of servers configured to be immersed in a 100% biodegradable heat transfer fluid. This is a new cloud technology that has been progressively adopted in the industry for several years now by certain technological bricks. The solution can be deployed on your premises or made available as a hosted service, giving you a connection to the world without your data having to travel all over it. We take care of installation, maintenance, and operation in both cases. Hyperion solution for data centers avoids the use of air conditioning systems thanks to immersion cooling technology. Hyperion uses biodegradable oil, doesn’t waste any water, reduces the CO2 digital impact and allows to reuse 90% of fatal energy. Our solution does permit +30% hardware durability (because of zero dust and oxidation in immersion cooling). Moreover, 50% energy savings and comes with less capex because of air conditioning zero investment leading to a less than 3 years ROI
