GO TO-U is excited to announce our role as an official network provider for the Charge Ready NY 2.0 program, a pivotal initiative spearheaded by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). This program is designed to increase the availability of Level 2 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations throughout New York, fostering cleaner transportation options and advancing the state’s environmental objectives.
NYSERDA has allocated $12 million to support public, private, and not-for-profit organizations in installing Level 2 EV charging stations at workplaces, hospitality, car dealers, fleet owners, multi-unit dwellings (MUDs), and public facilities managed by municipal or state government entities. This initiative strives to make EV charging more accessible and convenient, encouraging more New Yorkers to switch to electric vehicles.
In Europe, transport represents 1/4 of Europe's greenhouse gas emissions and is the main cause of air pollution in cities. In 2018, CO2 emissions from road transport have reached 786 million tones (EEA agency). To meet the 2050 Paris climate commitments, transport has to decarbonised.
